Darkfall - A New Hope?

Just like I expected, I would get bored of WoW as soon as I hit exhalted in Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley. I have no desire to change my real life schedule to fit some clans raiding schedule just so I could get new shiny loot for….what purpose?

I really like World of Warcraft, but I am tired of playing games and thinking: “Wow, this game has a lot of potential, but it’s just missing something”

The expansion may change things, but at the moment, its one year away. I personally don’t see myself waiting an entire year to *possibly* get a much needed boost to the excitement of pvp in WoW.

So, what does this have to do with Darkfall? Well, I have been following Darkfall for a few years now. It seems like a game that will try to create the feeling Ultima Online did when it was first released. Here is a short description:

“The character development system is intended to allow for a high degree of customization, offering a vast array of skills and spells. The objective, an appealing one to many observers, is to make it possible for players to follow virtually any type of career path they might want, becoming a de facto explorer, hunter, mercenary, smith, magician, fisherman or almost anything else by making the appropriate choices, with optional prestige classes such as Paladin, Assassin, Gladiator, Enchanter also available. All will adventure in an environment that differs from most others in its clearly stated emphasis on player vs. player combat.”

I’ve really been thinking about it lately since many of my online friends from other games and past KarasHur clans are going to start a KarasHur faction in Darkfall. Maybe its time for Tay to take the leadership role once again. I definetly know what NOT to do now. lol
