|
|
Ok guys, someone told me to check this game out. I'm currently in the stages of testing to see if a pk should spend any amount of time in the game. That usually means reading everything I can get my hands on about the game.
For those of you who have been playing it for a while...here are a few questions I haven't found the answers to yet:
What is the combat system like? Factions? Open pk/pvp?
How fast is the leveling? Is there a level cap? If so, what is it?
Is the game item based or is there more skill involved in combat?
Is the lag good or bad?
Looting? Stealing? Scamming?
If the game seems worth it, I'll spend some serious time getting as much info as possible for you guys. |

I still consider myself learning the limits of this game even after a month or so. I think I can answer most if not all of these so here goes...

ANYONE can fight ANYONE. Unless you are in the same party. Oh and you have to be on a hunt map that allows it which is mostly everywhere that matters. Just hold the CTRL key and click some fool and its on. Battle status is instant and doesn't turn off until a few seconds after you stop attacking other players. But once you are fighting anyone else can just jump in and attack you and or the person you are fighting. You only go battle status, PURPLE, when YOU attack WHITE. Sit there and don't fight back while WHITE, die, your attacker/killer is now RED. Anyone can attack/kill you while RED and not even go into PURPLE status. You are basically treated as a monster, and there are plenty of wannabe heroes to test you.

The leveling is moderate and actually based on how daring you are. If you are solo or in a party killing challenge level monsters, you are going to level a great deal faster than the guy killing stuff his own level. The level cap is 150. It will take anyone at least 4-5 months to reach that hardcore grinding or account sharing, whatever. This is still BETA.

At first it may *seem* item based, but thats coming from level access as well since the higher level you are the stronger your weapons tend to be. The actual skills have level requirement to learn then they can be raised by skill points. Fighting still involves skill, tactics, and luck. Some moves are so powerful they send your opponent (or you) flying across the screen. Seriously. If you ever hit with enough dmg from a skill or normal attack, you can interrupt and stagger your opponent. There are also "stuns" which make your opponent move slower, attack slower or straight up glue them to one spot in the ground. This is also enhanced by poison, burning, bleeding and wounding {max HP reduction}. Magical effects or curses like lower defense and lower resists are also here. I must say again that the sad thing is, most of the players in this game have no where near the mindset that we have. They just lack the interest, depend on level advantage, ganking or spam skills.

Depends. Its all pretty stable but you will get some lag when there are many people first appearing with glowing weapons and seting off a light show of skills. After you have seen things a few times it won't be as bad as the first time.

Loot is assigned. If you never played Guild Wars this means that the game will only allow the assigned person to pick up the item for a set amount of time. Afterwards anyone can just pick it up or it vanishes forever. The only way to steal is to distract or kill the person the item(s) you want is assigned to before they can. Sometimes there will be loot just lying on the ground unclaimed since the person it normally belongs to is still fighting something else. Wait a few seconds then its yours. Scamming depends on how desperate the mark is. While you may think you are overcharging the mark may actually think its a deal. And if you broadcast your scam too much there is usually someone to shoot it down with some stupid comment before you can make it. But there is nothing stopping a tru hustla |

I did a little research and it looks like scamming is a bannable offense.
A couple more questions:
Are there instances?
I've heard there is sieging in the Korean version. How does that work and when will the US version receive it?
What are you sieging? Castles? Keeps? What benefits do you gain from sieging? Are there set seige times or always vulnerable?
Any known loot hacks/dupes?
How is the GM support? Do they understand English? |

YES. Single player instances at lower lvls, a currently INACTIVE guild dungeon (which seems to be related to seige BTW), and a few higher lvl ones that allow party. Ex. the first party instance is Lv.60 req with 3 different variations (A, B, & C) I still need to try it out myself with a party since its fucking nuts to try and solo.

2Moons is still considered BETA. Seige is not currently active and the devs have not set a date on it yet. They are still trying to fix translating dialogue, code and other bugs. And while I think that they taking their sweet time I realize that theres a great deal of pressure already to pull this off to begin with. Only 2 servers so far and tons of players already. Even with shit missing that says a lot about it.

Can't answer this without experiencing it or translating the Korean sites. I've watched some videos and it appears that the 2 castles, Briaken and Loa are the maps the seige take place on. The event seems to be global and others can buy access to spectate during it.

If there are any, the people who know how are keeping it a secret very well. But I do know personally that the same exact item with magical stats can and has dropped within the same grind session for me. I guess the randomizeror or whatever gets a brain fart sometimes too.

They have their hands full. Fortunately they do understand English. I've seen quite a few GMs so far. Ran into one while red and about to kill a bot also. I was like, "Thats a bot!" he was like, "I know". He just followed it and they both just kept on going. Guess he was interested in its pathing and behavior. |
