Shaman Totem Fun ^^

I found this little gem on the official forums:

So apparently, a Shaman can drop any kind of totem in BB, whether it be Earthbind, Fire Nova ... whatever, even get it so you're almost dead (didn't let it get to the point of killing me) and the guards don't attack ... BUT if you were to destroy this "apparently neutral" totem, the BB Bruisers have your head. Does that seem a tad wrong to anyone else? Any other experiences with this issue?

It can be annoying to say the least being followed around BB with someone dropping totems every few seconds, slowing your walking and ticking away your HP while you basically sit there completely defenseless.

Shouldn't a totem count as the Shaman's minion and cause the creator to be aggroed by guards for the damage caused by it? Or at least if it doesn't cause the Shaman to gain aggro, why cause the totem killer to gain aggro?
