It's time to give the people what they want...
It's time to give the people what they need...
It's been four years since the birth of Karashur, and gaming sites are still regurgitating the same news and "strategies" you can get from 1000 other sites. The hardcore gamer is still being ignored. Those who live for player versus player content in online games struggle to find the best methods to destroy their opponents. The age of the pk (player-killer) is dead and gone.

Change is on the way...
Warhammer Online has officially gone gold!
“Warhammer Online going gold is a major milestone", said Ghislaine Le Rhun, Managing Director of GOA. "We will soon be holding in our hands the boxes of the game. The adventure is about to begin !".
“We’ve done our best to create the next great MMORP experience, but it’s the fans that will bring our world to life”, said Mark Jacobs, vice president at EA and general manager of Mythic Entertainment. “The Day of Reckoning approaches and it’s going to be glorious! It’s time to go to WAR”.
Based on the popular tabletop game from Games Workshop, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is an epic fantasy MMORPG featuring innovative Realm vs. Realm™ game play that pits the forces of Order and Destruction against one another on the battlefield to determine the fate of nations.
Awarded “Best Online Game” at the recent Games Convention, “Best PC Game” of E3 by G4’s X-Play and “Best MMO” by IGN, WAR has been well-received by critics and by the gaming community as an accessible and engaging MMO title. Tens of thousands of players have already joined the battle in the closed beta, and soon the time will be at hand for players the world over to pledge their allegiance to the armies of WAR.
Could this be the next combat-oriented mmo we have been waiting for? I guess we will find out in a few weeks.
"Hot on the heels of spectacular showings at E3 and Comic-Con, Mythic Entertainment, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) studio, today announced that fans will be able to enter the gritty fantasy world of Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning™ (WAR) on September 18th, 2008 when the highly-anticipated MMORPG goes live. After three years in development by Virginia-based Mythic Entertainment, WAR will open its North American, European and Oceanic servers and offer players a variety of flexible subscription options. Gamers who pre-order WAR in North American will enjoy special benefits including open beta admission, a live game head start, and bonus in-game items."
Well, it seems like NCSoft sends another great player to virtual heaven. I remember asking Rich's permission to post the comics here at KarasHur shortly after the first few were released. We would like to personally thank Rich for taking time out of his busy schedule to add a much needed contribution to the Lineage 2 community.
If you haven't viewed any of the comics yet, shame on you.
If you would like to read what Rich has to say about this wrongful banning,
We will be adding more screenshots as usual, so check the photo album frequently.
Stabby Mcstoo is funny as usual.
The Darkfall developers have recently released a new movie for the mmorpg community. Darkfall has most of the features one would associate with fantasy based MMORPGs, but also contains elements found in real-time strategy and action games.
We recently added a Lineage 2 database for the Karashur website.
Now the fun part of updating the database with all the C4 information awaits!
Enjoy, and let us know on the forums if there is something you would like to see added to the database.
can be a painful experience.
As a result of the traffic from slashdot, several sections of the site will be down until upgrades can be made. These sections include:
mmorpg articles, MMORPG Veteran, some pictures from the AQ event.
The story can be found at
Pictures of the event and the resulting chaos can be found at:
This is definetly a funny comic from R.S. Head to the Stabby Mcstoo section and click comic #38.
Communication in MMORPGs is very important. There are several players who fail to realize people from all over the
world play these games. It's so much more fun when you can actually understand each other.
It's the game developers job to keep you playing as long as possible...unfortunately endless and pointless grinding is
the method most developers use. How the hell can the average person remain competitive in games that require 8+ hours
a day? Read this article to find a few tips.
A close friend of mine has written a great article regarding the lack of innovation in the MMORPG industry. We were talking
about this subject for hours a few days ago. It's nice to see what other people think about the mmorpg world.
Most of our news is discussed in detail here:
The front page will discuss very crucial MMO gaming news as well as updates to the site. Make sure you visit the gaming news section as well. I wouldn't want you to miss
important information. :)
Don't forget to head to the screenshots section to look at the new armor/weapons, etc. for Chronicle 4. I get excited about every patch...maybe I will stop playing
World of Warcraft for 5 minutes to check out the new stuff???
